You do not have to go far in the state of Virginia to find a classic car museum. Virginia is at home at least eight (or nine, if you stretch your definition of "vehicle" to include tanks!). Here is a list of all the vintage car collections can I find information about Virginia.Car and Carriage Caravan Museum at Luray Caverns traces the history of transportation in America. Items on display include carts drawn by horses, coaches, wagons and early automobiles. The collection includes an 1892 Benz automobile, a 108 Baker Electric, Stanley Steamer 1913 and 1925 Rolls Royce of Rudolph Valentino. The collection includes examples of Carter, Star, Stephen, Cleveland , Hupmobile, Paige, Nash, Essex, Packard and Cadillac. The Virginia Museum of Transportation in Roanoke has cars and other vehicles in almost every decade of the twentieth century. The museum focuses primarily on the railway industry, but also has a section aviation and aerospace. You can see 1971 Purolator Mercury Cyclone, a 1989 Thunderbird Neil Bonnet, and a coach in 1937 Glen Wood Ford. The AAF Tank Museum in Danville has no old cars, but I could not let them out! Their collection includes 117 tanks and artillery pieces, as well as over twenty thousand other military related items dating all the way back to 1509!
