How to install Boost Controller Manual Without Blowing Up Your Engine

How to install Boost Controller Manual Without Blowing Up Your Engine -

Before installing a manual boost controller, it is important to have already added an exhaust gas high flow and replacement air intake / air filter. This will ensure that the car is able to breathe, and allow the turbo spooling easier.

It is imperative to have installed an aftermarket gauge boost. Most gauges of stock boost is not accurate, even at levels of boost stock and still lose precision, once available boost increases. Without a boost gauge after-sales, you risk damaging the engine of excessive overeating

How it works.

The wastegate actuator determines your level of boost stock. The boost controller interrupts the line pressure which flows into the discharge actuator, allowing you to increase boost on stock levels

Step 1 :.

Find your wastegate actuator that is usually attached to the turbo, unless you use an external wastegate. The wastegate valve actuator will be a vacuum pipe port that operates at a source of overfeeding. The source supercharging is generally either housing of the turbocharger, the intercooler pipe or intake manifold. This vacuum line is where the manual boost controller is installed. If there is a T-fitting of the vacuum line between the source of overeating and wastegate actuator, it will have a separate vacuum line that operates at the boost control solenoid valve. If you have a T-fitting, remove the line that goes to the solenoid, but leave it plugged solenoid.

The beard on the boost controller that connects to the wastegate actuator has a small hole in it. It is important to leave this open hole, and never pass beard wastegate and boost barb.

Boost controllers typically come with about 3 feet of the vacuum line that you can cut into 2 pieces of desired lengths. The first part will connect the boost of beard on the controller to your source of boost. The second piece to connect from the wastegate pin on the controller to discharge suction port. Tip: If you have trouble dragging the vacuum lines on beards, use some oil to lubricate beards. Block all boost open source with vacuum caps and use clamps to secure all vacuum line connections. We recommend using premium gasoline turbo with all cars, especially once you have increased your boost stock

Step 2 :.

Now that the boost controller is installed, it's time to test the car. We recommend leaving the adjustment knob exactly where it was when you received and installed your MBC when you begin the test. Turning the knob clockwise increases boost by turning the knob counterclockwise decreases boost. This step is very important to keep an eye on your boost gauge to ensure you do not overboost and damage to your engine.

Drive your car in an isolated spot where you will be able to stop and go several times without interfering with traffic. Slowly press the gas and watch your boost gauge mounted. If the boost gauge does not hit the target, increasing the boost. If the boost begins to exceed your target, decrease the boost. Repeat steps as necessary. It usually takes between 5-10 settings to get exactly the boost to your target. We recommend that you start by setting the boost button in increments of 1/2 turn, and you get close to your target take you maybe make small adjustments. Never pay more than 1/2 turn at a time.

Each car has a maximum level of security boost, depending on the upgrades of the vehicle and the characteristics of the fuel system, in particular the amount of fuel your pump and injectors can provide. It is important to research and find out what the maximum level of your specific car amplifier can operate safely.

This guide is a fundamental starting point for manually installing the supercharger controller. If you have a twin turbo wastegate or external vehicle installation technology may vary slightly.
